STAMER GMBH was established at the turn of the millennium as a demerger of Jantzen & Deeke GmbH. Today it is a globally active spice trading house with a clear-cut specialisation in pepper. This allows us to develop targeted expertise and provide our business partners with unique intelligence and risk management strategies.
Our mission is: To provide a continuous and reliable supply of pepper to the spice processing industry. In all qualities, in quantities as needed, at the contractually agreed prices, at the right time – this is our guarantee.
Tradition and vision
PEPPER TRADE FOR 6 GENERATIONS – AND COUNTING
Today STAMER GMBH is a globally active spice trader with clear-cut specialisation in the trade of pepper. We are working closely with our family-affiliated and family-run companies ALBERT PANZER GMBH and JANTZEN & DEEKE GMBH and are active members of the European Spice Association (ESA) and the German 'Fachverband der Gewürze'.
STAMER GMBH’s history traces back to the year 1859. This is when Nicolaus Heinrich Jantzen – great-great-great-grandfather of today’s owner and manager Sven Stamer – founded a trading house for tea, spices and tobacco in Hamburg, Germany.
In the early 20th century, under the leadership of the family’s fourth generation, the firm placed spices at the core of its strategy. During this time, close relationships with suppliers around the world were established, partnerships that continue to be nurtured to this very day.
In the sixth generation the cousins Sven Stamer and Kai Jantzen took over the company and created the familiar structure of the three closely affiliated family-run companies ALBERT PANZER, JANTZEN & DEEKE and STAMER GMBH.
This marks the birth of STAMER GMBH the specialist in pepper trade.

Sven Stamer
Owner, CEO, Corporate Strategy Officer, Purchasing and Sales
Sven Stamer is sole owner and CEO of STAMER GMBH. He is in charge of STAMER GMBH’s strategic development as well as the purchase and sales division.
As pepper trader in the sixth generation Sven grew up with the business. He was trained by the fifth generation of pepper traders, Mr. Heinrich Jantzen. This equipped him with the wealth of experience of generations of pepper experts. Sven studied Economics and Business graduating as Dipl. Kaufmann in 1996.
Drawing on the experience of 150+ years in pepper trade as well as his analytical rigour Sven has been leading STAMER GMBH for 25+ years with his keen understanding of the dynamics of the pepper market and his sense of innovation, strategic corporate development and economic foresight.
Sven actively participates in the trade associations of the spice industry, including memberships in the German Spice Association and the ESA (European Spice Association).
As an expert on the developments in the pepper market Sven was invited multiple times as a speaker at assemblies of ESA as well as ASTA and the ISC in India.
As a board member and officially recognized arbiter Sven was involved in the IGPA (International General Produce Association) before its merger with the GAFTA (Grain and Feed Trade Association).
Kai Jantzen
Vice CEO
Kai F. Jantzen is Vice CEO of STAMER GMBH.
As cousin and business partner of CEO Sven Stamer, he has close ties to STAMER GmbH.
He was trained by the fifth generation of pepper traders, Mr. Heinrich Jantzen. Drawing on this wealth of experience he is now leading 150+years of experience in pepper trade into the future.
For 20+ years he has been successfully managing Jantzen & Deeke GmbH, a company with family ties to STAMER GMBH, as its sixth-generation owner and CEO.

Whereas the founding fathers of our company were considered honourable businessmen we are continuing their values in today’s globalised fast paced business environment.
